Today I hope to start some lovage seeds. Lovage is a perennial plant that can be used in place of celery. Apparently it has a stronger taste that can be akin to anise. It’s dried seeds can also be used as a salt substitute.

It is important to me to learn to grow food crops that I consume large quantities of. We eat celery all the time at our house in lentils, chili, and other similar dishes. Celery is particularly hard to grow, however. So finding substitutes that are hardy is beneficial.

I’ll let you know how it goes.
