tiding up and fencing off

I’ve been getting my garden spaces ready for accepting plants.

Today I fixed up the greenhouse for the spring and pounded in fence stakes for the garlic bed.

This year the garlic is growing in the only garden bed that existed when we moved in. It was a rectangular trench just as you come out the back door that had been planted with flower bulbs that were really lovely in the spring.   The flower stalks and garlic stems are coming up at about the same rate.  I’m not worried about them competing for space underground, because the flower bulbs are planted into the earth soil layer, while the garlic bulbs are planted into a multi-layered mulch that I placed atop the soil this fall.
