Canned bread and butter pickles today (made some banana nut spice muffins too). My stepdaughter helped a lot with the pickles. She cut all the cukes and participated in every step. We did math in our minds, we did addition and multiplication and division on paper, and she counted all the cucumbers. Earlier this season we canned stewed apricots together. They’re really good on ice cream and glow golden in the pantry.
This season I’ve also canned golden chunky applesauce, a jar of simple spaghetti sauce, 15 jars of dill pickles, 3 jars of curry pickles, and three jars of mustard pickles.
