Dust bath

Here is a shot of our two lady chickens taking their morning dust bath just beyond the railing of our back step.  There is an overhang that keeps the area dry.  Nothing grows back behind the small tree and ferns.  In short, a perfect place for a dust bath.  Covered outdoor areas are important for chickens.  These dust baths smother mites tics and fleas and therefore keep the ladies feeling chipper.
