Protection for the garlic

The chickens have been snacking on my newly sprouted garlic. Bummer. I’ve been letting them free range some days, and these are the repercussions. So this evening while my baby slept in her stroller I used sticks from our stick pile and created some more extensive fencing for the garlic bed. I surrounded the bed with taller sticks, then used twine to connect all the sticks. There is an opening for a door, which I have to make or perhaps I can repurpose the old chicken gate I made last year. The twine won’t completely keep the chickens out, but it will help. I hope to weave more twigs in from the stick pile to make the fence more effective (and cuter).
