Chicken Mash

I was in the midst of making homemade granola two nights ago when a perfect little moment presented itself to try and organize the fabric in my craft room. My aunt, who was visiting, offered to hold River and hang out with me in there. Oh so tempting. I was delving through my fabric and organizing it, and wouldn’t you know it, that granola burned.

I was devastated. Well, the kind of devastated I get about food anyway. How could such a great thing, like organizing my craft room, result in such a crummy thing like the burning of granola.

But I didn’t let it get me down for too long. I dumped the other half of my bag of oats into another baking pan, and started on a second batch. It turned out just fine. And as for that massive amount of burned up nuts, spices and oats? Well our lucky chickens are going to get warm tasty mash every morning for the next week. Heat that burned up granola with a little water in a pan, and you have chicken mash. Lucky ladies.
