We all need rags in our homes, but they’re something we don’t give a lot of thought to. Some folks buy boxes of rags, and we have done that in the past. We did it a year ago when we were painting several rooms in our new rental. But it seems wasteful. Those rags are just T-shirts and whatnot cut up. So I started making my own rags.

This is a hand towel that I have always disliked. I dislike the color. It doesn’t quite go with anything else. Over time it got stained as well. It would irk me every time I dried my hands on it, and whenever it was hanging on the rack and guests would come over I would be embarrassed.

So cut it into rags I did.

Now they live under my kitchen sink and it gives me pleasure to scrub up dirt with them.
