Consuming Strawberry Jam

We have been eating so much delicious home canned strawberry jam. Perhaps my calculations were a bit off. I predicted that we ate about 1 jar of jam a week. But in the week since I canned up this jam we have eaten three full jars.

Perhaps it is because it is strawberry season and we yearn for their fruit. Perhaps it is the home baked bread that makes us want to cover each slice in a thick layer of fresh sweetness. Perhaps it is the newness. Or the fact that we haven’t eaten much home canned jam in two months.

Whatever it is, we are eating the heck out of it.

I think I will adjust my canning calculations and try to make 20 jars of raspberry jam instead of 12.

This evening I penned out the labels and stuck them on the jars. Now they have taken their rightful place in our pantry.
