Using old pottery in the garden. This is from one of the sets of pottery my grandparents got in Mexico. They used them regularly, and after their deaths, some pieces were passed down to me. As pottery tends to do when used heartily, many of them broke. But I can’t part with all of it. So some takes on a new life in our garden.

More old pottery. This is a slug trap. Hoping they will take shelter under here and I can scoop them up and be done with them.

Baby in the garden. Yes, she does step on plants. Yes, it makes my heart crash when she does. And yes, I still think it’s worth it.

Oh that sounds marvelous, especially as the snow falls again in Baltimore. I miss having a patch of earth.
